Nevada is a land of dramatic contrasts that beckons adventurers to rugged mountains, forests, rivers and lakes in the scenic high desert and dazzles visitors with exciting resorts, elegant dining, exotic shopping and big-name entertainment in 24-hour cities. No matter where you go in Nevada, you’re surrounded by mountains and can always find a good meal and fun things to do, day or night.

Las Vegas is the fabulous “Entertainment Capital,” Reno offers a lively arts-and-culture scene along the downtown river walk and whitewater park, just steps from the resort hotel-casinos; Lake Tahoe is a year-round recreation paradise for skiing, hiking, biking and boating, and Elko is “The last real cowboy town in America.”  All across the state, Nevada offers historic mining towns and quaint Old West communities, more than 100 golf courses and dozens of magnificent state parks and scenic drives. Nevada is home to Great Basin National Park with the amazing Lehman Caves and is a gateway to Death Valley and Grand Canyon national parks.

From Erik:

One of the reasons I love visiting Nevada is the dry heat. Being from Iowa and living half of my adult life in NY, I have grown accustom to the humidity and I still am not a fan! Whenever I visit Las Vegas or other parts of this state, i am always struck by its rustic beauty. My most recent trip was in March of 2010 and I loved it!
