Casting a fishing
rod with my Dad, the smell of knach kuken cooking in the kitchen (say that five
times fast!), Aberdeen makes the Norman Rockwell painting in me come alive, as
it’s where my grandmother lived. I spent countless summer days loafing on
Richmond Lake, on long drives through the Black Hills, playing with Lincoln Logs
in Wylie Park, and just wandering the streets of this classic Small Town U.S.A.,
where both the food and the people are homemade. A special shout-out to Mother’s
– not just the ones who give birth, but the Aberdeen restaurant where I spent so
much of my time as a kid!
